InsightMeter 編輯部 · To You Education (Hong Kong) Limited

If you are new to public-market disclosure research, you do not need twenty tabs and a hot take. You need an ordered path: shared vocabulary, one filing family at a time, a worked example, then methodology limits—before any live table. This InsightMeter page is that path. It is educational only and free to read without an account.

Important: These materials are educational only. They are not investment advice, tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Past measured outcomes do not guarantee future results.

The 10–15 minute path (do this in order)

Budget about one to two minutes per step if you skim, or stretch to fifteen minutes if you open each linked guide’s checklist. The order matters: vocabulary first, then clocks and forms, then scoring honesty, then tools.

Minute 0–2: Glossary — shared words

Open the glossary and skim 13F, Form 4, reporting lag, hit rate, horizon, benchmark, and survivorship. You are not memorizing law; you are preventing later guides from redefining the same terms mid-sentence. 開啟指南 →

Minute 2–4: Filing calendar — different clocks

Read the SEC filing calendar cheat sheet. Learn what 10-K/10-Q, 8-K, 13F, and Form 4 typically measure—and what each is not. The lesson is proportion: not every alert deserves equal urgency. 開啟指南 →

Minute 4–6: 13F literacy — lagged maps

Read the 13F retail research guide, then the 13F lag guide. What you learn: quarter-end as-of dates versus filing dates, why share counts beat dollar headlines, and why “smart money just bought” is usually the wrong clock. 開啟指南 →

Minute 6–8: Insider literacy — codes before slogans

Read insider transactions in context, then Form 4 codes. Optional next: Form 4 footnotes and 10b5-1 plans. What you learn: P/S/A/M/F are not interchangeable with “bullish/bearish,” and footnotes often carry the real story. 開啟指南 →

Minute 8–10: Forecast honesty — definitions first

Read evaluating forecast track records, then skim forecast scoring & backtests. What you learn: a hit rate without horizon and benchmark is marketing; small samples and silent edits distort scoreboards. 開啟指南 →

Minute 10–12: Worked example — one fictional issuer

Open the sample research walkthrough. Watch how one notebook separates a 13F share-count add, a planned Form 4 sale, and a media forecast claim—without a buy/sell conclusion. 開啟指南 →

Minute 12–14: Combine without conflating

Read the combine-public-disclosures workflow. What you learn: one research question, multiple clocks, explicit falsifiers. Do not mash three headlines into one “signal.” 開啟指南 →

Minute 14–15: Methodology — then tools

Skim methodology for data sources, validation posture, and limits. Only after that should registered users open live tables—and only to answer a written sub-question. Soft product note: public guides stay free to read; dashboards are optional. 開啟指南 →

How to spend the fifteen minutes without rushing badly

If you have only ten minutes, complete steps 1–5 and bookmark 6–8. If you have thirty, open each linked checklist and copy one sentence into your notes. The path fails when you skip vocabulary and jump into a leaderboard screenshot.

Print or paste this rule at the top of your notebook: “Every claim needs a form type, an as-of or publication date, and a filing or acceptance date when relevant.” That single rule prevents most beginner errors this library documents.

What each core page teaches (at a glance)

Use this as a map, not a substitute for reading. Each link below answers a different research job.

First-week checklist (template)

After the fifteen-minute path, use this checklist during your first week of practice. It is a learning template, not a trading system.

Limitations

This path makes you a more careful reader of public documents. It does not make disclosures complete, timely, or predictive. Many economic facts never appear on a 13F or Form 4. Amendments change archives. Scores describe history under rules—not guaranteed future skill.

Nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. When you finish the path, continue through topic deep dives below, then methodology and glossary as standing references.

Deep dives by topic (after the path)

如何閱讀 13F(避免「故事化」過度解讀) · 13F lag: quarter-end ≠ trade timing · 13F amendments and late filings · 13F 對 N-PORT:機構與基金持股披露 · 內部人交易:情境比標題重要 · Form 4 內部人代碼解析 · Reading Form 4 line items (and verifying on EDGAR) · Form 4 footnotes without a lawyer · 10b5-1 plans: what they do and don’t tell you · Earnings 8-K checklist for retail researchers · 8-K item codes + fundamentals in a research notebook · How to read Form D offerings & exemptions · Form D 豁免發行對 Form 144/Rule 144 · CIK↔代碼查詢與 EDGAR 核對(研究筆記) · 如何公平評估預測成績 · Read a forecast scorecard without overclaiming · 預測校準:陳述信心有意義嗎? · 預測評分與回測 · 如何閱讀殖利率曲線利差(拒絕貼士文化) · 在研究筆記中讀 XBRL 基本面同比增長 · 整合 13F、內部人與預測訊號 · SEC 申報日曆

Bottom line

Fifteen disciplined minutes beat an hour of unsorted alerts. Learn the clocks, learn the codes, fix forecast definitions, then—and only then—use tools as servants of a written question.
